I’ve been reminded of the time when I went to

Korea

seven years ago. There were a lot of beautiful women there. They had sharp chins, double eyelids, big eyes, high noses, and long legs, and they were taller than Japanese women.

On that trip my daughter asked my Korean guide, “I heard some Korean ladies get plastic surgery. Is this true?” She responded, “Yes.” I saw about 15 little children on a kindergarten bus who had single eyelids and wide chins. The children proved what she had said.

Today is Halloween. I don’t take part in any special events on Halloween, but my son and several of his friends wore special costumes in their classes at their university. Yesterday he made the costume. He used a hemp bag with two holes for eyes to cover his face, and painted red colors on his T-shirt. His concept was a farmer who had killed someone. He enjoyed Halloween this year.

My town

I live in Ebina, which is a suburb. Near the station, there’s a commercial area. It has a big shopping mall, two theaters, and many restaurants that young people like, so a lot of young people go there every weekend. It takes 15 minutes to walk there from the station, and you can see a lot of rice fields and crops, as well as the Tanzawa Mountains and Mt. Fuji. If you go to a rice field in June, you can listen to a chorus of frogs. You can feel a sense of natural beauty. I live in Sugikubo. It takes 20 minutes by bus from the station. The area is residential. It’s kind of a sea of houses. There are a lot of two-story houses, twelve-story buildings, and the Tomei Highway. We have a great atmosphere in Ebina

My hometown

My hometown is Mitaka. It's commercial and a sea of concrete and steel, with no field, no crop, not even a park. However, Mitaka is kind of literary town. Do you know Osamu Dazai, Ougai  Mori, or Yuzou Yamamoto? They are famous literary men. Mitaka has museums, of their works the Jiburi Forest Museum and thier graves. On the anniversary of Osamu Dazai's death (ohtouki) in particular, many of his fans visit his grave. Mitaka is an excellent area.

Antokinoinochi

In the end of November, I went to see a movie called "Antokinoinochi" in Japanese.

The story is about a high school student and his friend who are bullied by other students. As a result, his friend commits suicide and he has manic-depression.

A few years ago, he gets a job cleaning up some people's houses whose owners passed away suddenly. He is able to overcome his illness while he realized that they had lived happily.

"Antokinoinochi" is a relly strange movie title. It refers to Antonio Inoki, who is a famous professional wresler. He always says " How are you? ( Genkidesuka)" The movie's theme is "encouraging each other." That's why the movie's title is strange.

The invention of Cellular phone

The invention of Cellular phone has enriched people's lives. Nowadays, you can get world information whenever and where ever you want. In addition, music, games, TV, and GPS functions are installed in cellelar phones. It makes our lives convenient.

As a result, some people concentrate on using a cell phone while walking or cycling, so they bump into other people. Sometimes the other parson is hurt or even dies.

However, there is no law against there actions. The only way to help stop the program is for us to pay attention when using a cell phone and have a sense ( molar) of how to use it.

市議選2011年11月

We had an Ebina Council election. The result was disapointing. This is because, I know one of the candidates, who was my son's elementary school teacher. He has been as Ebina City Council member for over ten years, in particular he worked for welfare. He started a grass-roots movement, but doesn't belong to any party or social group in Ebina. He had beem engaged as an Ebina City Council member steadily, but he lost the election.

However, I found an interesting candidate manifesto in Ebina before the election. This candidate, who in in his early thirtirs, had been an actor until September. He had never been engaged in political activity. He's just famous on TV as a celebrity. In his manifesto, it says "I'll do my best. Now we need change in Ebina, so I want reform." I thought that I was able to say the same as him. Nobody would vote for him. However, he got the highest number of votes.

In Ebina, some people voted for candidates who belong to political troups or their area communities. Others voted for candidates who are famous celebrities. As far as I'm concerned, everyone should've not voted for candidates who were just only famous or celebirities. That's why I was disappointed in Ebina's council election.
